Standard Mast Climbing Work Platform (MCWP) checklist (for reference)
1. Drive platform to top of mast and check for any unusual noises, vibrations or behaviour
2. Check each tie assembly's condition and possible movement during travel
3. Check rack and pinions work well and are well lubricated
4. Check the condition of all bolt and tie bolt fixings, including any goal post tie arrangements
5. Carry out an operational check — confirm platform stops promptly, level and without slipping when directional control is released
6. Check the condition and connections of the chassis, decks, mast sections, drive unit and platform modules for damage
7. Check the motor brake for any visual signs of burning or wear — look for carbon or burning residue around motor covers
8. Check that the safety device is clean and free from debris, and is clear to operate
9. Check that the drive unit gearboxes and seals are free of oil leaks
10. Confirm equipment is installed correctly and safe to operate
